Before you make an important call — or before signing up at all — you can check whether your internet connection is good enough for clear VoIP calls. It's free, takes about 5 seconds, and needs no login.

What it measures
- Ping — how long it takes your connection to reach 6X's servers and back.
- Jitter — how much that timing varies call to call. High jitter is what makes calls sound choppy even when the average ping looks fine.
- Download / Upload speed — real throughput, timed directly, not estimated.
These are fed into the same ITU-T E-model formula real telecom engineers use to predict call quality, giving you an Excellent / Good / Fair / Poor result instead of raw numbers you'd have to interpret yourself.
One honest limitation
This test can't measure packet loss — that only shows up on a real active call's audio stream, which doesn't exist yet at this point. If a real call still sounds choppy despite a good result here, packet loss during the call itself is the likely cause.
While you're on a call
If you're logged into the 6X Softphone, a live version of this same indicator runs automatically on your call bar during an active call — more accurate than the pre-call test since it can see real call traffic, including packet loss.
